PSI
system working well
The new
Player's Score Input system, that's the touch screen computer now
used in most competitions, has gone down well with members of all
categories. Provided for the club by our Rabbits
section, it has been in use for several weeks and even those
unfamiliar with computers have found it simple to use. Through its
use we now have a clubhouse leaderboard running and updated
throughout competitions as players come off the course. At the end of
a competition the results are forwarded to the 'How
did I do' website
which can be accessed at any time using the Comps
& H'caps link in the top menu
bar. Results can be viewed along with the respective player's new handicap.
Casino Night
|
Our first ever
James Bond themed Casino Night was a huge success for the club.
Attended by more than eighty people,
members and their guests played at Roulette or Blackjack tables
throughout the evening. As playing 'chips' were all inclusive
in the ticket price with no-one able to buy more, everyone had an
even chance to come away with one of three great prizes. |
|
The 'secret'
top prize, won by Roe Atkin was revealed as a 2 day cruise to France
for four people. |

Weds 9th April 2008
Work began
this week on the long awaited re-shaping of the 8th green. Those who
play South Kyme regularly will have noticed the new tee box. It has
now been turfed and will be ready for use in the Summer this year. A
horseshoe bank surounding the green has been built and is ready to be
grassed. The new, re-styled multi tier green will be completed
through the autumn months with minimal disruption to play.

Peter
Williams, the outgoing Captain of the South Kyme Golf Club Seniors
decided that the charity he was going to support was the Lincs -
Notts Air Ambulance. Throughout the year, he imposed fines on the
Senior Members for many different reasons including hitting the ball
into water hazards, using the telephone in the clubhouse etc. The
total amount raise during his year reached £2,500 -The
helicopter landed on the practice ground by the Clubhouse and the
members of the section were given a brief talk and tour of the
aircraft by Pilot George Phillips. |
